Area Suraksha Mitra is a Janaagraha (http://www.janaagraha.org ) initiative. ASMs’ are citizen security representative from local communities.
The key goal through the Area Suraksha Mitra initiative is to make our homes, streets, neighborhoods and communities safer and more caring places to live in. The campaign is aimed at empowering citizens to handle situations both in contingencies as well as for neighborhood security, will work in close coordination with the police and other security agencies.
The Kannu Teri Bengaluru campaign is an initiative to expand the Civil Defence and use citizen power to create safe neighborhoods by appointing Area Suraksha Mitras.
